Multi-day Tornado Threat Increased and Severe Weather Over The Weekend!

Tornado Threat with all Modes of Severe Weather Today (Friday) through Sunday!

Confidence is growing that one of the more threatening severe thunderstorm events thus far this year set to unfold across the south-central United States this weekend, bringing the whole gamut of hazardous weather.

FRIDAY (TODAY) – OUTLOOK

Scattered severe storms are most likely after 3 PM across northwest Texas into western Oklahoma.

The greatest potential for a few tornadoes and isolated very large hail is expected from late afternoon into this evening.

SATURDAY – OUTLOOK || UPDATED – INCREASED THREAT! 

Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected across the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles, northwest Texas, and western Oklahoma on Saturday, with the greatest threat expected from mid-afternoon into the early evening.

A few tornadoes, including the possibility of a strong tornado and very large hail, will be the primary hazards, with damaging wind gusts possible as well.

SUNDAY – OUTLOOK

A couple of severe storms may affect a portion of the lower Mississippi Valley area, centered on the Delta region on Sunday.

Locally damaging wind gusts and possibly a tornado may occur, mainly during the evening hours.


FLOODING CONCERNS
Persistent rounds of rain will continue across the central and southern Plains through the end of the week and the weekend.

From eastern Kansas through southern Missouri, it is possible that more than four inches of rain could fall across the region in just a few days.

People in these and surrounding communities should begin thinking ahead about possible disruptions to travel or outdoor plans during the Friday to Sunday time frame, as well as preparations that can be made in advance of any severe weather.
